Since 2011, Reforest Fest has been Greenpop’s flagship tree-planting event, hosted annually at the stunning Bodhi Khaya Nature Retreat.

Join our mission to plant between 5,000 and 10,000 indigenous trees, making a tangible impact through the Uilenkraal Forest Restoration Project. Celebrate under the stars with live music and DJs, and indulge in our curated sustainable food village.”
Why Tree Planting?
By helping to plant 5,000 trees, Reforest Fest attendees are contributing to Greenpop’s broader Uilenkraal Forest Restoration Project. This initiative runs year-round and involves working across four properties to implement a holistic forest restoration strategy.
Our ongoing efforts extend beyond tree planting to include managing alien vegetation, supporting natural regeneration, and enhancing biodiversity. This comprehensive approach ensures the rejuvenation of degraded forest patches at the Platbos Forest Reserve and surrounding areas, helping to restore vital ecosystems that provide essential services like carbon sequestration, soil stability, and habitats for diverse species.
Participating in Reforest Fest means actively engaging in a sustainable future, where restored forests thrive as resilient ecosystems supporting both nature and local communities. Together, we are fostering a legacy of environmental stewardship and ecological balance.

“The 2024 event is being held at Bodhi Khaya Nature Retreat, which is located only 2.5 hours from Cape Town, nearby Gansbaai and Stanford. The stunning surroundings of Bodhi Khaya Nature Retreat welcome explorers to its milkwood forests and fynbos trails, in addition to beautiful on-site accommodations.
This will be the third Reforest Fest to be held at this venue, which is also an ongoing Forests for Life Reforestation Partner of Greenpop.”
